About L-3 CTL

L-3 Communications, California Tube Labs (CTL) designs, manufactures and rebuilds high-power vacuum tubes for a wide variety of applications in the frequency range of 300 MHz to 18,000 MHz, with power levels up to 3 million Watts. CTL's facility is located in Watsonville, CA.

CTL's product lines include:

  • Industrial CW magnetrons, at 896, 915, 928 and 2450 MHz with power levels from 10 kW to 125 kW
  • Pulsed magnetrons at frequencies 2 to 18 GHz, with peak power levels to 3000 kW
  • Rebuilt Klystron amplifiers for CW link and accelerator applications

CTL is a leading supplier of vacuum tubes to OEMs and end-users of:

  • Medical therapeutic and surgical X-ray equipment
  • Industrial microwave/RF heating and curing equipment
  • Commercial and military radar systems
  • Research equipment, such as plasma generators and electron sources

CTL's worldwide customer base includes; U.S. Fortune 500 companies, U.S. Department of Defense, and worldwide users of commercial, medical and industrial microwave equipment.

CTL's Watsonville California facility provides an excellent environment for high-quality, volume production of vacuum tubes.
